The Altra W Lone Peak 8 are Trail shoes used for running or hiking. These were recommended to me by the sales associate, the only shoes she wears, and after trying them on, I loved them. The toe box is wide and there’s plenty of room for my bunion. I wear these with my orthotics and they provide the support I need. These shoes are not available in wide but the regular width has a wide square toe box so they work for wide feet and bunions. I’ve only used them for hiking on trails, they’re comfortable and had great traction, but they can be used on different terrains including mud, streams, snow and for running and hiking. Also, I really like the look of these shoes even with the square toe box and the ripstop nylon. It makes the shoes a little shiny and unique but also will dry quickly if they get wet.

Negatives
- Not really a negative - Only available in regular width (but they have a wide toe box so wide width is not necessary).
- Square toe box – Some may not like the square look of the shoe.
- Price – Over $100 per pair
I got these in 7.5 M (wide not available in these shoes but they can work for wide feet and bunions due to wide toe box).
