Review
Bought in Lunar (gray with purple and blue stripe), also available in black & white and blue.
These shoes are very different from the supportive shoes I usually wear. They are considered zero drop or barefoot shoes because they are flat and made to have a natural fit/barefoot feel to strengthen your foot muscles. There’s minimal cushioning and the heel and forefoot are at the same level to help with posture and balance. The Xero Prio shoes have a wide toe box (so wide sizing is not available or necessary with these shoes). If you try barefoot shoes or zero drop shoes, it’s best to gradually transition from your supportive shoes.
I love the look and feel of these shoes but because they are flat and don’t have a lot of support, I wear them with my custom orthotics because my feet naturally roll inward as they move (overpronate). If interested in the zero drop or barefoot shoe I recommend this brand and style.
Positives
- Very comfortable, doesn’t feel like you’re wearing shoes.
- Wide toe box.
- Insoles come out of the shoe.
- Can wear these shoes with orthotics.
- Lightweight.
- Zero drop or barefoot shoe (if looking for that type of shoe)
Negative
- Minimal cushioning.
- May take transition time from highly cushioned shoes.
- Zero drop or barefoot shoes activate different muscles so you may feel soreness when you first wear them in your butt or calf muscles.
- Some people with flat feet will feel more comfortable with shoes with a supportive arch.
Additional Details
Bought 8 to wear with orthotics or 7.5 if I wasn’t wearing orthotics.
